TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA

Based on Jamaican-born ska music, Tokyo Ska Paradise, Japan’s ska pride to the world, takes in all sorts of music with unique interpretations and has established their own style of sound that they call “Tokyo Ska”.
The band made their debut in 1989 with their eponymous album (so-called “the yellow vinyl”). After going through a number of personnel changes, the current lineup consists of nine members.
As they solidify their status as an instrumental band, the band has also taken on the challenge of doing songs since 2001, with music written by the members and lyrics written by baritone saxophonist Atsushi Yanaka, bringing in guest vocalists.
The band has always made the world their stage; they have performed in 31 countries to date, and have performed at numerous major music festivals including Glastonbury (UK), Eurockeennes (France), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Vive Latino (Mexico), and Lollapalooza Chile (Chile). In 2013, they became the first Japanese artists to take the main stage of Coachella Festival (USA).
Furthermore in October 2019, the band won the Espectaculo Alternativo category of Las Lunas del Auditorio, the biggest music awards in Mexico, for their live performances in the said country that had fanaticized the local people over the year.
Even now, beyond the 34th debut anniversary year, Tokyo Ska Paradise continues to expand the paradise of “Tokyo Ska” under the mantra of “NO BORDER” and running the forefront of the music scene.

FISHBONE

Fishbone is a band. Fishbone is a Familyhood. Fishbone is Red Hot.

Starting in Junior High School as part of the bussing program transporting students to schools within or outside their local school districts as a means of rectifying racial segregation, Fishbone were breaking stereotypes.

This essentially was the spark that started the bands creative and influential drive that would lay the foundation that other bands would follow for decades to follow.

Born out of the punk rock scene of Los Angeles, CA, Fishbone came out as a force of songs and live energy leaving bands not wanting to follow them. A feeling that continues today.

Signed to Columbia Records in 1984, Fishbone released 4 albums and 3 ep’s and toured the world headlining shows, festivals and leaving people stunned and still one of the best shows ever seen. A constant statement that still is used today from fans to artists that shared the stage with them.

After years of touring and rotating members, Fishbone in 2023 is back to their most solid line up which includes original members, Angelo Moore (vocals/Saxophone), Chris Dowd (Keys/Vocals), Dirty Walt (Trumpet/Vocals), Norwood Fisher (Bass), rounding it out with veteran Fishbone drummer, John Steward, and Mark Phillips.

With a new EP recorded produced by Fat Mike of NOFX and coming out on Fat Wreck Chords later in 2023, Fishbone is getting ready to reclaim their live touring throne, leave the audience wanting more, thinking more, influencing younger bands, and paving the foundation and legacy they have been laying for decades. #FuckRacism
