About Stonebwoy
International superstar Stonebwoy has an unrivalled discography of albums and singles. His eminent global career has made him one of the most popular and distinguishable voices in Africa and around the world.
Since his breakthrough in 2012 with ‘Climax’ featuring Samini, he has had a stellar music career to date, releasing four magnificent albums: Grade 1, Necessary Evil, Epistles of Mama, and Anloga Junction, and garnering outstanding physical and digital sales, with many hit songs throughout Africa as well as numerous chart records broken. With a career that transcends language, geography, and demographics, Stonebwoy is rated as the best reggae, dancehall, and afropop artist from Africa, and he is widely recognized for pioneering and elevating Afrodancehall music into a global cultural and musical phenomenon that has fuelled an explosion in popularity for the African reggae and dancehall scene.
Born Livingstone Satekla, the multi-award-winning composer and performer, known in recent times as 1GAD, fuses Afropop, dancehall, and reggae elements into a distinctive sound that has seen him consistently publish runaway, colossal hits, making him an influential figure in the Ghanaian musical landscape.
Stonebwoy is no stranger to success. Having been the recipient of some high-end awards such as Best International Act: Africa at the BET Awards, Ragae and Dancehall Artist of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards, 4 x AFRIMMA winner, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award winner, and 2 Billboard plaques, he has duetted with high-calibre artists such as Keri Hilson, Sean Paul, Trey Songz, Burna Boy, Alpha Blondie, and many more. He has rocked stages from the UK to the USA, Australia, Italy, Puerto Rico, Amsterdam, and beyond, making his electrifying touring an integral part of his career as he leaves it all on the stage for his fans.
2022 opened up a brand new chapter for Stonebwoy as he released his first single with Def Jam/Universal, entitled Therapy. The single, with a red-hot video to boot, is essentially a love song, kicking hard with a driving beat and all the right flavor for dance floors worldwide, and then subsequently following up with his second single, ‘GIDIGBA’ (Firm and Strong), in September 2022, another rhythmic but inspirational piece about never giving up. These tracks solidified his status as a true global superstar, as evidenced in part by his headline performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar Fan Festival in Doha.
